Coastal guide to Comporta

Coastal guide to Comporta

One of Portugal’s best kept gems, often compared to José Ignacio in Uruguay for its laid-back beach cabana vibe, stiff Atlantic breeze, and endless unspoiled sand dunes. Comporta is a village on the west coast of Portugal, about an hour drive south of Lisbon. The entire region, Herdade da Comporta, is a 12,500 hectares swoop of coast – protected nature reserve comprising seven small villages, rolling rice paddies, and is a home to wildlife like storks, flamingoes, and dolphins.

Quinta da Comporta

An old rice farm barn restored into a beautiful hotel overlooking the wide stretch of rice fields and pine tree sand dunes. Embodies the traditional understated luxury and Comporta cabana style, with modern twist. Just a 10-15min walk or bike ride to the beach. Find us at their boutique!

A sleek and charming design boutique hotel surrounded by a stunning pine tree forest, sand dunes, cork trees and wildflowers. The perfect place to retreat and relax. A 15min drive to the beach.
