Coastal guide to Comporta

Coastal guide to Comporta

One of Portugal’s best kept gems, often compared to José Ignacio in Uruguay for its laid-back beach cabana vibe, stiff Atlantic breeze, and endless unspoiled sand dunes. Comporta is a village on the west coast of Portugal, about an hour drive south of Lisbon. The entire region, Herdade da Comporta, is a 12,500 hectares swoop of coast – protected nature reserve comprising seven small villages, rolling rice paddies, and is a home to wildlife like storks, flamingoes, and dolphins.
